Whether you are interested in cosmetic smile consultation or a general exam and checkup, we offer a cosmetic dental consultation to all new patients. During the consultation, we will discuss your cosmetic needs for creating the smile you were always dreaming of.

Otherwise for general dental patients, at your first visit, all areas of your mouth will be thoroughly evaluated. This process will include a detailed examination of the teeth, soft tissue, supporting structure alignment, bite and more. A complete set of x-rays may be needed along with bone scan and dental photos. All the information that we obtain will be carefully evaluated so that we may accurately assess your dental needs.

What To Expect At Your First Dental Visit

At our office, we believe in the highest quality care possible and it starts with collecting all the data. You will be stopping at different stations for data collection.

Digital X-Ray

Depending on your dental history, your dentist may recommend the taking of a series of digital images or X-rays to get a better look at your entire mouth. X-rays allow your dentist to see things that can’t be seen by the naked eye, and they help your dentist conduct a comprehensive exam.

We pick our equipment very meticulously to ensure we are most updated with technology. Safety is our highest concern that’s why we use state-of-the-art low radiation digital x-ray. If you have taken digital x-rays less than 6 months ago, you can obtain a copy the digital x-rays that might be useful to use and might prevent the need for new x-rays but if you have x-rays that are more than 6 months old, it might not be diagnostic and we will need to obtain new x-rays.

It’s no secret that the more anatomical information available, the better a dentist is able to diagnose and plan. Three-dimensional radiography captures information that was not visible with regular x-ray.

High-quality images, low-dose options, and fully featured treatment-planning software continue to provide enhanced features for highly effective planning in providing the best in patient care. This will help our dentist to evaluate your bone and your sinuses. Your dentist can check for bone fractures, cysts, tumors, lesions, and sinus issues. It is an absolute requirement to use a CT scan for implants and many more dental procedures.

After your first visit, we’ll provide you with a copy of your dental treatment plan to take home, including the price quote for recommended treatments, and the date for your follow-up appointment.
